Nuruddeen Society is an Islamic religious voluntary organization registered as a national outfit, with branches in over 40 towns and villages in Nigeria. The Society was officially renamed in 1953 and has since been actively participating in the socio-religious development of its members and environs. In virtually all the Branches of the Society the activities of the Society are similar and are coordinated by the National Secretariat.
The Motto of the Society is “ALLAAHU NUURU SAMAWA AT I WAL-ARDI” (“Allaah is the Light of Heaven and Earth”)

The Headquarters of the Society is situated in Ogbomosho North Local Government, Oyo State, Nigeria.

BRANCHES NETWORK

Nuruddeen Society of Nigeria has mosques, schools and offices in forty (40) towns and villages of the Federation. The places where their branches are located include: Ogbomoso, Ibadan, Iluju, Ola, Oyo, Lokoja, Ilorin, Paiko, Minna, Bida, Suleja, Abuja, Keffi, Nasarawa, Akwanga, Gadauke, Toto, Angwan Mallam Musa, Jos, Barkin Ladi, Mangu Pankshin, Bauchi, Gombe, Kaduna, Zaria, Kano, Gusau, Samunaka, Malumfashi, Tsahe, Yankara, etc.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

The aims and objectives of the Society are as follows:-:
 The promotion and propagation of Islam and Islamic Culture, and to carry on the great message of Islam and dissemination of the true knowledge of the Holy Qur’an and Hadith among all people.
2. The promotion of mutual understanding and peaceful co-existence among the Muslims in particular and non Muslims in general.
3. To device means and adopt measures for promoting religious moral and social advancement of Muslim Community as follows:-
i. To fund, build and maintain Educational Institutions where students will be taught Islamic Religion, Culture and other general subjects of Western Education.
ii. To maintain library for use of members, students and the general public.
iii. To encourage literary and intellectual pursuit among members and the general public.
iv. To encourage any other body or institution that may wish to further the advancement of education and Islamic Religion.
v. To establish tertiary institutions for purposes of learning
vi. To eradicate all forms of evils and corruption and to foster feeling of brotherhood among all members of the Muslim Community.
vii. To establish and maintain Media Houses which shall operate inter-alia periodicals and Newspaper devoted to the interest of Islam and advocate of Muslim courses generally.
viii. To undertake various projects on the translation of the Holy Qur’an and other Islamic Books into any language, publish and circulate same among Muslims as well as non-Muslims.
ix. To establish and run all categories of Medical Centers, Dispensaries, Home for Motherless and Disable Children and other people in need of such moral and social care.
x. To co-ordinate Islamic activities of Muslim students of the Society in educational institution in Nigeria and Abroad with a view to encourage them to aspire for the highest height of the Islamic principles, good conduct and develop good citizenship.
xi. To organize Islamic lectures, exhibitions, conferences, classes, seminars, workshops and volunteer service courses for the Muslims.
xii. To do such other things as are incidental and/or conducive to the attainment of the above objectives.

National President

Alhaji Abdulrasaq Sadiq

Alhaji Abdulrasaq Areo Sadiq was born on 17th March 1985 in Ogbomosho, Oyo State. Alhaji Sadiq attended Kwara State college of Technology Ilorin where he bagged his OND in 1985 and later proceeded to Yaba College of Technology, Lagos for his HND in 1988. He also attended University of Ibadan for his Master Degree in Industrial and Labour Relation (MILR) in 1998 and also obtained a Master degree in Business administration (MBA) from Ladoke Akitola University, Ogbomosho in Oyo State in 2002.Alhaji Sadiq became a certified National Accountant (CNA) in 2008 and fellow Certified National Accountant (FCNA) in 2014 Alhaji Sadiq commenced his working experience with African Petroleum Limited as a Clerical officer in 1981 and rose to the rank of a supervisor in 1986. He later joined the service of Oyo State Local Government Service Commission as an Internal Auditor in 1989-1995 and Director of Finance and Supplies from 1995 to 2012. Alhaji Sadiq was transferred to the Oyo State Civil Service Commission, as Director Planning, Research and Statistic in the Accountant General's Office. He was later moved to the Oyo State Housing Corporation and held the position of Director of Finance from 2013-2017. His final destination in the Oyo State Civil Service before his retirement in March 2018 is the ministry of works and transport, where he served as Director of Finance and Accounts from 2017.

Murshidul-Am

SHEIKH ABDULAZIZ YUSUF

Sheikh Abdulaziz Yusuf was born in Jos in the year 1932. The learned Sheikh started his learning experience under the tutelage of his uncle Baba Olagbende; who raised him in the verdant village of Iresadu, in Oyo State. The Sheikh's uncle taught him to Farm and hunt; and these skills later proved to be invaluable in his life as they enabled him to teach and preach with greater clarity and lucid examples. The death of his beloved uncle brought him back to Jos and after a brief stint with GB Olivant, the Sheikh as a young man then, chanced upon an advert in the nigeria citizen newspaper and apply for employment. He was employed as the Assistant Murshid of the JNI in Jos in the year 1960, and has been with the organization since then. Due to his insatiable quest for knowledge, the Sheikh embarked on a lifelong voyage on the gilded path of scholarship. The journey took the Sheikh to places far and near. From the corner of Adebayo Street, studying at the foot of Alhaji Abdul Ganiyu Ayinde and his brother Alhaji Yusuf Falansa; and later moved to Kano to acquire knowledge before proceeding to Sokoto, the base of the revivalist Sheikh Othman Bin Fodio in search of more knowledge. As a scholar without borders, Sheikh AbdulAziz proceeded to Tripoli in Libya, Cairo in Egypt and Saudi Arabia in pursuit of Islamic knowledge. It takes patience to drink from the cup of great men; and Sheikh AbdulAziz paid his dues in this respect. He feels honoured to count among his teachers, the likes of Sheikh Ahmadu Arabi of Dilimi Street and Mallam Garba Khawas of Sarki Street in Jos; the legendary Sheikh Abubakar Gumi in Kaduna and Sheikh Suleiman Naibi Wali (Imam) in Kano. The list includes, sheikh Khadir Binji in Sokoto and Sheikh Abdulwahab Sarumi in Ibadan, among others. Today, by the special grace of Allah Sheikh AbdulAziz has risen to be a living legend of Islamic Scholarship and diplomacy with numerous books he has authored that are being studied all over the country. Furthermore, his Pivotal role in the evolution and growth of Nuruddeen schools is a testament to his selfless service to Islam and Islamic scholarship. For several years, the Sheikh was the administrative secretary of Jama'atu Nasril Islam, before occupying the position of Director of Administration in JNI, Plateu State and the Murshidul-Am and Director of education, Nuruddeen Society of Nigeria. Sheikh Abdulaziz Yusuf is blessed with children, grand-children and great grand- children.

National Secretary

Alhaji Abdulraheem Muktar A

Alh Abdulraheem Muktar A. was born on 25th August, 1959 in Ogbomoso North Local Government Council of Oyo State. His educational qualifications include: M.Ed (Science Education) UDUS Sokoto, 2006, B.Ed(Science Education Biology)ABU Zaria, 1989, NCE (Biology/Geography) College of Education Gindiri, 1986. He has held many position of responsibilities within the society which include: National General Secretary of the society from December,2016 to date; Secretary National Welfare Committee from December, 2012 to date, National General Secretary July,2000 to 2006, Co-ordinator Nuruddeen National Youth Wing, April 2003 to date. He also held the position of financial secretary of the Nuruddeen Youth branch Keffi, Secretary Nuruddeen Education Management Committee, Secretary Jama'atul Nasrul Yatamah Foundation an NGO that carter for orphans and less privilege children in Keffi. Alh. Abdulraheem Muktar A. was a member of the 9 batch of Technical Aid Corps deployed to Republic of Sierra Leone for a period of two years that served between, 2006 to 2008.He served at Hakail Academy Bo Sierra Leone. During his service year at Hakail Academy, he was appointed the Vice Principal Academics in March, 2007 and Acting Principal November, 2007 to July, 2008. Alh Abdulraheem Muktar A. was currently a staff of Secondary Education Board Area 3 Garki Abuja. He is happily married to Haj Khadijat Kuburat and Haj Kasirat Muktar.They are blessed with children.
